The Barrie Baydogs Triathlon Club: Bringing Triathlon to You
Launched originally as the Kempenfelt Triathlon Club (KTC) in 2006, the Barrie Baydogs Triathlon Club is now 130+ members strong.
Barrie Triathlon Club Mission Statement
Incorporated in 2010, the Barrie Baydogs Triathlon Club is a non-profit, member run organization with a mission to develop a community of multi-sport athletes from recreational to elite, and to become Canada’s premier triathlon club.
The Baydogs are not just a triathlon club; the club seeks to develop a community of athletes in a variety of different sports for a common purpose to:
✔Achieve personal athletic goals;
✔Encourage individual growth and performance in the sport;
✔Participate in organized group training sessions;
✔Socialize in a fun and congenial environment.
The Barrie Baydogs Triathlon Club is located in the best possible area for triathletes. With its beautiful fresh water swimming in Kempenfelt Bay, well paved rural roads minutes from Barrie's urban areas, and well maintained paths, city streets, and trails for your running needs, you will have every training opportunity at your doorstep!. We are also within 1.5 hours to the Ironman Muskoka 70.3 course, and a short drive to most race sites of both the Multisport & Subaru Triathlon Series.
Group training:
Every week we get together for a number of instructor led workouts. From doing stairs, hills or speed work, to endurance bike rides, and even cycling time trials. Learn how to train properly to take yourself to the next level! Check our Club Calendar and see what's in store this week!
Social Events:
All work and No play... not at all! Burning calories is not the sole focus of the Barrie Baydogs Triathlon Club; we also stress the social aspect of racing and training. Each month we have a social gathering where members and their loved ones relax and share stories of their training and races, and provides an excellent opportunity to organize independent training swims/rides/runs outside of the regular group workouts. Many of our Saturday rides are themed social rides such as the Pancake Ride, the Butter Tart Ride, and the mid-summer Potluck / Pool Party Ride. Check all of our Social Events planned for 2021.
